The Solace Story

Hi, I’m Penny — the maker behind Solace, and the hands and heart behind every piece.

The name Blayney is more than a brand — it’s my father's name. He passed suddenly in 2022, and the weight of that loss changed everything. At the time, I was navigating new motherhood, raising my 15-month-old son, feeling the pain of a miscarriage and facing the quiet heartbreak of a divorce. I chose to return to my family name — Blayney — not just to honour my dad, but to hold onto something steady, something grounding, something full of love.

Grief, in all its forms, became part of my everyday life.
Then in 2025, I said goodbye to my incredible dog, Mynx. She had been with me for 14 years — from the UK to New Zealand — a constant through all of life’s hardest turns. Losing her broke me open in a way only the love of a pet can.

Solace was born through this grief — and through it, a quiet knowing: that love never truly leaves us. I wanted to create something that gave others a way to carry that love forward. Tangibly. Beautifully. Every day.

Each piece I craft is a tribute — to pets, to people, to the invisible threads that bind us to those we love. Using sterling silver and silver plated in gold. I embed fur, hair, ashes, crushed crystals or memory fragments into high-grade resin, preserving them in fine, meaningful jewellery.
